Team Bofa4x4 'Mac Taster'
When it was confirmed that Team Scrapheap had a place on the Mac one of the first priorites was to get some much needed practice in; Team Bofa's St. Valentines Mac taster was just the ticket!

The event took in several counties with a mixture of both on and off-road action, several well known spots such as tissington ford aswell as rarely visited greenlanes were experienced by all: a proper 'mini-mac!'. The navigation was a combination of Tulip Navigation* and Navigational Scatters** with the inclusion of Questions 'en-route' involving the surroundings. Throughout the six stages all the teams entered had their skills tested throughly, with only a few missed questions and wrong turns all the teams had an enjoyable 'taste' of the Mac. It wasnt only the navigation which pushed the limit, every team members stomachs was tested with hearty breakfasts and a teatime Cavery also being part of the challenge!

The results saw Team Scrapheap take second place with the real winner being Macmillan Cancer Support. In total £243.58 was raised for both Team Bofa and Team Scrapheap. A big Thanks must go to Steve 'crouching tiger' Raybould (picture below) and also the marshalls/behind the scenes helpers! A much appreciated and well ran event!

Roll on the Mac!
* Tulip navigation - often seen in Professional Rallies; a set of directions consisting of junction maps and intermediate and overall milages. See the below Picture.

** Navigational Scatter - A set of Grid References or similar are plotted upon a Ordance Survey map; it is then up to the team to choose the shortest and most appropiate route ensuring all points marked are passed.
